Simple ways to protect your eyes from screen strain

Here are tips by the American Academy of Ophthalmology to protect your eyes from screen strain.

Hold your screen at arm’s length (about 25 inches). Keep it slightly below eye level.

Glossy screens cause glare. Use a matte screen filter to protect your eyes.

If your screen is too bright compared to the room, your eyes work harder. Adjust room lighting and screen contrast.

Follow the 20-20-20 rule. Every 20 minutes, look 20 feet away for 20 seconds.

Blue light can disrupt your sleep. Reduce screen use before bedtime.

 Limit screen time one to two hours before bedtime.
