Starry safari: 5 nebulae that look like animals

Made of clouds of gas and dust in space, the mesmerising shapes of nebulae never fail to amaze people. Here, we have five such shapes that resemble earthly creatures.

Horsehead Nebula

As per NASA, it is one of the most photographed objects in the sky and has an intricate structure.

Jellyfish Nebula

Officially known as the IC 443, it is the remnant of a supernova located 5,000 light-years from Earth.

Eagle Nebula

Located 7,000 light-years away, this incredible creation features towering tendrils of cosmic dust and gas called Pillars of Creation.

Crab Nebula

It is an expanding remnant of a star's supernova explosion, 6,500 light-years away from our Blue Planet.
