5 infrastructure projects set to dot Bengaluru’s skyline within the next decade
1) The Karnataka government has approved the construction of South Asia's tallest Skydeck in Bengaluru which will offer a 360-degree view of the city.

The proposed Skydeck will be constructed at an estimated cost of ₹500 crore on NICE Road in the outer region of Bengaluru and stand approximately 250 metre high.

2) With the aim to alleviate traffic congestion, the Karnataka Cabinet has also greenlighted the construction of an underground tunnel from Hebbal to Silk Board junction.

The 18.5 km twin-tube tunnel road will come up at an estimated cost of ₹12,690 crore.

3) A second international airport about 60 kilometres away from the existing airport in Devanahalli is in the works. It is expected to be ready by 2035.

The government is considering six locations for the proposed airport - Kanakapura Road, Mysore Road, Magadi, Doddaballapura, Dabaspete and Tumakuru.

4) Two elevated corridors spanning 44.65 km under Phase 3 of the Bengaluru Metro Rail Project have been proposed. These are expected to cost ₹15,611 crore and are slated to be operational by 2029.

The first corridor will run from JP Nagar 4th Phase in South Bengaluru to Kempapura in the North, the second from Hosahalli to Kadabagere along Magadi Road in West Bengaluru.

5) Four corridors under the Bengaluru Suburban Rail Project are expected to be completed by December 2027.
