Every year, February 4 is celebrated as World Cancer Day to spread awareness in the fight against cancer. 

Here are 5 simple lifestyle changes to adopt to help prevent the risk of cancer.

Have a well-balanced diet 

Opt for a balanced diet including fruits, vegetables and whole grains. They are rich in antioxidants and phytochemicals that help protect against cancer-causing agents and boost immunity. 

Exercise regularly 

Add a few minutes of physical exercise to your daily routine as it helps maintain a healthy weight which lowers the risk of cancer.

 Avoid exposure to harmful substances

Avoid using harmful substances, including smoking and chewing tobacco. Limiting exposure to the same can significantly benefit your overall health and reduce cancer risk.

Avoid over exposure to sun

Too much exposure to the sun's UV rays can lead to skin damage, which can be cancerous. It is essential to use sun protection when outdoors. 

Get screening tests

Get regular screening tests and medical care done to stay informed about your health. It is also beneficial in raising the chances of deducting cancer early.
