Echoes of Brilliance: Unveiling the Genius of Dolphins

Dolphins are considered to be one of the most intelligent animals in the world, second only to humans.

Brain size: Dolphins have a large brain relative to their body size, similar to humans and chimpanzees.

Communication: Dolphins have advanced communication systems and can learn symbols and sentences. They can also understand abstract concepts and comprehend symbol-based communication systems.

Social intelligence: Dolphins are highly social and form complex social networks. They greet each other by exchanging names and can remember those names for decades. They also work together to hunt, protect themselves, and care for their young.

Self-awareness: Dolphins are one of the few species that can pass the mirror test, recognizing their own reflection.

Problem-solving: Dolphins can assess situations and solve complex problems. They can also understand concepts like numerical continuity.

Echolocation: Dolphins use echolocation to sense their surroundings and navigate in dark or murky water.

Emotions: Dolphins exhibit complex emotions like happiness, sadness, and grief. They also have a more complex limbic system, which processes emotions, than humans.
