Are you neglecting yourself? Key signs of self-neglect and over-responsibility

When we end up taking too much responsibility and neglecting our own emotions, it can turn harmful for our own emotional and mental health. We need to be self-aware and in connection with our thoughts and emotions to take care of ourselves and prioritise ourselves.

We end up blaming ourselves for things that are not our fault. This happens because we feel responsible for everything that goes wrong. 

We end up prioritising everything else except ourselves. This leads to self-neglect and hence, we never take care of ourselves as much as we should.

We never address our own emotions – we end up bottling the difficult emotions. This can lead to unintentionally lashing out sometimes.

We focus on making other people happy, often at the price of ourselves being sad. We are also underconfident and end up second guessing our choices.

We get into the hypervigilance mode and read into things and get into the spiral of overthinking. Hence, we have a difficult time not taking things personally.
