PM Modi Arrives In Washington DC, See Pics

Prime Minister Narendra Modi arrived in Washington DC from New York on June 21 after celebrating the 9th International Day of Yoga at the UN Headquarters

PM Modi landed at the airbase Joint Base Andrews in Washington, DC

 He received the guard of honour as he arrived at the airbase amid heavy rainfall

The national anthems of both India and the United States were played at the airbase

People of the Indian diaspora assembled outside the hotel and chanted 'Bharat Mata ki jai' where PM Modi is staying

Artists from the Indian community also performed outside Willard InterContinental hotel in Washington DC

White House Executive Chef Cristeta Comerford and Guest Chef Nina Curtis also displayed the dishes to be included in the menu of the US State dinner

PM Modi is currently on an official state visit to the US at the invitation of President Joe Biden and First Lady Jill Biden

PM Modi also attended a historic Yoga session on the lawns of the United Nations headquarters in New York City

The event created a Guinness World Record for most nationalities performing Yoga together
