How to exchange 2,000 note in a bank?

The Reserve Bank of India (RBI) had announced the withdrawal of the  2,000 banknotes from circulation on May 19, 2023

RBI extended the deadline for the exchange of  2,000 notes till October 7, 2023

Here is a step-by-step guide on how you can exchange the  2,000 notes from a bank

Both account and non-account holders can visit the nearest branch of any bank and fill the 'Request Slip' for exchanging  2,000 notes 

Fill the 'Tenderer' name in capital letters and the Unique Identification Number of the accepted ID proof

The accepted ID proofs for the exchange of  2,000 notes include Aadhar Card, Driving License, Voter ID, Passport, NREGA Card and Population Register

Fill  2,000 under 'Denomination', specify the number of notes you want to exchange, mention the total value and sign the form 

The maximum value limit to exchange at a time is  20,000 only. Mention the date and place of exchange and submit the form with the  2,000 banknotes
