How to exchange ₹2,000 note in a bank?

The Reserve Bank of India (RBI) had announced the withdrawal of the  ₹2,000 banknotes from circulation on May 19, 2023

Here is a step-by-step guide on how you can exchange the  ₹2,000 notes from a bank

Both account and non-account holders can visit the nearest branch of any bank and fill the 'Request Slip' for exchanging  ₹2,000 notes

Fill the 'Tenderer' name in capital letters and the Unique Identification Number of the accepted ID proof

The accepted ID proofs for the exchange of  ₹2,000 notes include Aadhar Card, Driving License, Voter ID, Passport, NREGA Card and Population Register

Fill  ₹2,000 under 'Denomination', specify the number of notes you want to exchange, mention the total value and sign the form

The maximum value limit to exchange at a time is  ₹20,000 only. Mention the date and place of exchange and submit the form with the  ₹2,000 banknotes
