10 mesmerising images of stars captured by NASA telescopes

Innumerable stars made of hot gas illuminate the universe. Here are ten spectacular images of stars captured by NASA telescopes.

NASA's James Webb Space Telescope captured this stunning sight of a dying star, located about 2,000 light years away in the constellation Lyra.

This striking image shows a bright flash of light and gas being emitted from the star V838 Mon. The image was captured by NASA's Hubble Space Telescope.

This stunning image captures the formation of a star in the star-forming region known as IRAS 16562-3959, which lies within the constellation Scorpius.

This glittering image features thousands of stars which are held together by an intense gravitational pull in the globular cluster known as NGC 2298. ⁣

NASA's James Webb Space Telescope took this captivating image featuring a pair of actively forming stars, known as Herbig-Haro 46/47.

This mesmerising image shows a halo of light surrounding a distant star named V838 Monocreotis, located about 20,000 light-years away from Earth.

This spectacular image shows the star RS Puppis, which is 10 times more massive than the Sun. It is located 6,500 light-years away.

This sparkling image shows millions of stars densely packed together in a globular cluster, located about 157,000 light-years from Earth in the Large Magellanic Cloud.

This beautiful image captured by NASA's Hubble Space Telescope shows a bright star in proximity to the irregular Arp 263 galaxy.

NASA’s Spitzer Space Telescope took this image of Eta Carinae, one of the most massive and brightest stars in the galaxy.

This surreal image captures the hot stellar core of a dying star in its final stage as it undergoes nuclear fusion.
