Kajol Clarifies Her Comment On Leaders

Actor Kajol recently took to Twitter to break her silence on the social media backlash she received on her comment on leaders

Kajol made a statement in her recent interview with The Quint to promote her upcoming courtroom drama The Trial

Talking about women empowerment Kajol said, “Change, especially in a country like India, is slow. It is very very slow. Because we are steeped in our traditions and steeped in our thought processes and, of course, it has to do with education”

She said, "You have political leaders who do not have an educational system background. I'm sorry but I'm going to go out and say that"

 She added, "We're being ruled by leaders, so many of them, who do not have that viewpoint, which I think education does give you at least the chance to look out for a different viewpoint"

The actor did not take any name but her comment drew mixed reactions from social media users. Several Twitter users including political leaders responded to Kajol's statement

Amid the controversy, Kajol took to Twitter on July 8 and gave a clarification on her statement. Here's what she wrote on Twitter

The Trial, set to release on July 14 is an adaptation of the American courtroom drama The Good Wife. It marks Kajol's web series debut in which actor, Jisshu Sengupta will be seen playing the role of her husband
