5 Surprising Facts About Taylor Swift You Probably Didn’t Know

Swift grew up on a Christmas tree farm from ages 5 to 10. She has said that this experience gave her an unusual level of excitement for fall and the holidays.

She is named after James Taylor, one of her parents' favorite artists. Her mother thought that giving her a gender-neutral name would help her forge a business career.

In 2022, New York University awarded her an honorary Doctorate of Fine Arts degree.

Swift has won 11 Grammys, and is the first and only woman solo artiste to win the Grammy for Album of the Year three times.

When she was 14, Taylor and her family moved to the Nashville area so she could pursue a career in country music. After a music executive saw Taylor perform at the famous Bluebird Cafe, she was offered a record deal—the rest, as they say, is history.
