Board Exams 2025: Harvard University shares 7 best strategies for test prep

Board Exams 2025 is around the corner, and getting some preparation tips can boost your motivation to do better. Harvard University has shared seven best strategies for test prep.

1. Cultivate Good Study Habits: Simple changes in your habits can be helpful in the long run. Simple practices like doing your homework assignments on time, reviewing your notes daily, and appearing for mock or practice tests can improve your preparation game.

2. Don’t 'Cram': Cramming for a test is highly counterproductive. This way you are less likely to retain the information you need. Cramming also increases stress, negatively impacts sleep, and decreases overall preparedness.

3. Gather Materials the Night Before: This practice is for every day. Before bed, gather everything you need for the examination and keep it together. Having everything ready the night before will help you feel more confident and minimise stress on the morning of the test.

4. Get a Good Night’s Sleep: Every student must get a good night's sleep before the examinations. This helps them lessen their stress and have more clarity in their thoughts. Good sleep habits also help with having a good memory and improving academic performance.

5. Eat a Healthy Breakfast: A mix of complex carbohydrates and healthy protein will keep you feeling full without feeling sluggish. Whole wheat cereal, eggs, oatmeal, berries, and nuts may be great choices.

6. Arrive Early: Arriving early at a test location can help decrease stress. It also lets you get into a positive state of mind before the test starts. Organize the materials in the exam centre for easy access when entry begins.

7. Develop Positive Rituals: Every positive mindset yields fruitful results. Positive rituals can help combat negative thinking, test anxiety, and lack of focus that can easily undermine your success on test day.
