Board exam preps: 8 things all parents must do to help their wards prepare well

Is your child appearing for board examinations next year? Here are a few important things recommended by CBSE that parents should do to help their wards prepare well.

Guide your child in planning, organizing, and setting a time-table.

Provide the right kind of motivation and a conducive environment to keep stress at bay.

Only good schooling and tuition are not substitutes for emotional cushioning.

Do not displace your anxiety on the child. Help him/her in maintaining confidence especially when he/she seems discouraged by dropping marks or grades.

Set achievement goals realistically and according to the child's capability.

Do not mix academic issues with family conflicts.

Encourage the child's performance with positive statements like, "well done" " you can do better" rather than saying "that was not enough".
