Apple's new iOS 18 was announced at the WWDC 2024, held in June this year. A developer beta version has already been released, but the OS will be available for the general public only next month, launched along with the iPhone 16.

When it comes to aesthetic personalisation, the iOS 18 allows for free placement of app icons and widget anywhere, even extending above the dock. Dark and tinted themes can also be applied.

Apple Intelligence

Apple Intelligence uses generative models which it combines with personal context to refine tasks like understanding languages and creating images.

The Photos app has been completely overhauled, with photo libraries unified into a single, streamlined view. It also features new collections and daily highlights.

iOS 18 gets satellite messaging within the Messages app, which enables communication even without cellular and Wi-Fi signals.

The messages app also gets new text effects, options for formatting, and message scheduling functions.
