Foolproof ways to stop overeating and control portion size

Indulging in comfort food is tempting. However, overeating can harm your body, leading to chronic ailments, disrupting digestion, and affecting mental health.

You're craving something. Ask yourself, are you truly hungry, or just bored or emotionally worked up? Before you reach for that extra bite, ask yourself: is your stomach asking for more, or are your eyes just hungry?  Keep your emotions in check when you eat.

Replacing your regular plates with smaller plates will trick you into feeling full and satisfied at small quantity itself.

Limit snacks in between meal times. Designate proper meal times when you'll have full meal. Planning your meals for the day will help you stick to it and override any casual temptation.

Drink water before your meals. It will reduce your portions significantly. By drinking water you fill your stomach to some extent, and you don't overeat.

Do not consume digital tech while eating. Preoccupation with your phone, laptop or TV can make you forget that you're overeating. You may even eat more than usual just to finish that episode as you eat.
